JY Construction is proud to announce that our Greekery Cafe project has been named the winner of Best Commercial Renovation at the 2026 GTA RenoMark Awards. As a commercial renovation contractor serving Ontario, this recognition reflects our continued focus on café renovation, restaurant renovation, construction management, and reliable project delivery for commercial spaces.

Announced by the Building Industry and Land Development Association, also known as BILD, the 2026 GTA RenoMark Awards recognized outstanding renovators and custom builders for their quality of work, innovation, customer service, and industry leadership. The 2026 awards received 85 submissions across 20 categories, with entries evaluated by 18 industry professionals from across Canada. BILD's official announcement states that Best Commercial Renovation went to JY Construction.

For JY Construction, this award is an important milestone in our work across commercial renovation, commercial construction, and project delivery in Ontario.

This is not the first time JY Construction has been recognized in this category. In 2024, JY Construction also received the RenoMark Awards GTA Best Commercial Renovation award for the LaunchHub Angels Network Office project in Markham. This 2026 recognition marks another Best Commercial Renovation win for JY Construction and reinforces our continued focus on commercial renovation excellence. About the GTA RenoMark Awards and BILD

The GTA RenoMark Awards honour leading renovators and custom home builders who are part of the RenoMark program. The program identifies renovation professionals who agree to follow a renovation-specific code of conduct and service standards.

BILD represents the home building, residential and non-residential land development, and professional renovation industries in the Greater Toronto Area. The association has more than 1,000 member companies and is affiliated with the Ontario and Canadian Home Builders' Associations.

For business owners and property owners, the awards provide a useful reference point when evaluating renovation companies and commercial contractors. They highlight firms that demonstrate strong project execution, professional standards, and consistent work quality within the renovation and construction industry.

About the Award-Winning Greekery Cafe Renovation

Located in the Blue Mountain tourism district, Greekery Cafe is a 1,630 sq.ft. commercial renovation project that transformed a former garage into a warm and welcoming café space.

The project required more than a visual upgrade. It involved a complete commercial space transformation, balancing design intent, existing building conditions, operational requirements, customer flow, and construction execution.

The completed café brings together warm grey tones, Wabi-Sabi minimalism, arched architectural details, natural light, and a central tree feature. These elements create a calm and inviting environment while supporting the practical needs of a food and beverage business.

A successful commercial renovation needs to work on multiple levels. The final space should look polished, but it also needs to support daily operations, staff efficiency, customer experience, and long-term business use.
